According to the Mosaic Artist Libby Hintz, it was the colors, textures, and choices that led her to the idea of Mosaic Arts. She has worked as a Mosaic Artist since 2007. Other than Mosaic art, she also enjoys jewelry, belt buckles, small works, and commissions. Making art for and with people has taught her so much about herself and how she navigates through life and she enjoys sharing her passion for craft with others. Hintz has taught at the Art League of Long Island and in her own studio as well as at Cutting Arboretum.

Libby Hintz enjoys the idea of collaboration/working with others when working with Mosaic Arts. Collaborating with others to come up with designs and personal ideas to implement these ideas into the art. Just the thought of mixing different ideas to come up with one big plan is what she enjoys through the process. The main reason she started Mosaics is because of her kids. Mosaics were a way to get away from the other problems Hintz had in her personal life. She was overwhelmed but pushed them all to the side began thinking about the people and relationships and the creative energy in her life and how they are interconnected and interwoven, each affecting and influencing the other, realizing that sometimes she wants separation or boundaries and what do they look like and feel like.
